…Says Housing Units Designed For First-time Owners, Low-income Earners

About 2,800 units of homes are expected to be added to the records of homes provided in Lagos to cover the housing deficit in the city, the Lagos State Government (LASG) has disclosed.
The set of 2,800 homes include those in partnership with the Federal Government, providing 2,000 home units, and an additional 800 units expected in partnership with a private finance institution.
This is as the State Government declared it will be providing additional homes more speedily with accelerated completion of its ongoing housing schemes in all the five administrative divisions of the State.
Lagos State Commissioner for Housing, Hon. Moruf Akinderu-Fatai affirmed the readiness of the State to the task on Thursday during the ongoing Y2024 Ministerial Briefing holding at the State Capital, Ikeja, organised to commemorate the first anniversary of the second term in office of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
Akinderu-Fatai further revealed that the State is collaborating with the Federal Government on the Renewed Hope Housing initiative to provide over 2,000 home units in Ipaja and Ibeju-Lekki.
He also said there is an ongoing discussion with a private finance institution to provide 800 units at Odola in the Ikorodu division.
“All these initiatives are targeted at first-time owners and low-income earners, with mortgages ranging from 10 years to 15 years,” the Commissioner said.
