The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has released new video footage of the man suspected of fatally shooting conservative activist Charlie Kirk, showing him fleeing the scene of the September 10 attack in Utah.

In a statement on Friday, the FBI’s Salt Lake City Field Office said the suspect was captured on surveillance video climbing onto a rooftop shortly before the shooting at Utah Valley, then jumping down and fleeing after firing the fatal shots.

Weapons Found Near University

Investigators revealed that the firearm and ammunition believed to have been used in the killing were recovered in a wooded area near the university campus.

“The subject climbed up to a rooftop; after he shot and killed Charlie Kirk, he jumped off and ran away. He left a gun and ammunition in a wooded area near the university,” the FBI wrote in its public appeal.

Trace evidence collected from the rooftop includes shoe impressions, a forearm imprint, and a palm print.

The agency urged anyone with information to call 1-800-CALL-FBI or visit fbi.gov/utahvalleyshooting, reiterating its offer of a $100,000 reward for credible tips leading to the suspect’s identification and arrest.

Misinformation Adds to Tensions

The bureau also cautioned against online misinformation after two people wrongly identified as suspects spoke out, saying they had been subjected to harassment and fear as the manhunt continued.

Political Reverberations

Kirk, aged 31, was a prominent conservative figure, serving as president of Turning Point USA, the largest right-wing youth movement in the United States. A close ally of President Donald Trump, he was known for his outspoken advocacy on campus politics, immigration, and “anti-woke” cultural battles.

His killing has sent shockwaves across America’s political landscape, with allies decrying the attack as politically motivated while investigators continue to probe the motive.

Ongoing Manhunt

The FBI confirmed it is working closely with state and local law enforcement to bring the perpetrator to justice. “We will not relent until the individual responsible is held accountable,” the bureau said.
